On 8 September 1705 Paul Guidry was baptized by Father Félix Pain. On 3 Jan 1701, the day of his birth, he was baptized by Dyon (Dion or Joseph Guyon also called Joseph Dion, the husband of Marguerite Dugas - Paul Guidry’s half-sister). Paul Guidry’s parents are listed as Claude Guedry and Marguerite Petitpas, inhabitants of Merliguich. Sponsors at his baptism were Baptiste Guedry, his brother, and Marie Tibodeau. The baptism was recorded on 27 October 1705.
