Lester Clotiaux was an excellent baseball player and, while in the military, he played on the military baseball team. In 1945 while the team was flying near Nixon, TX to play another baseball team, the airplane on which the team was flying crashed in a field near Nixon, TX. Lester Clotiaux died in the crash. According to a local farmer who was the first person at the scene, the plane did not catch fire and burn6023.
