“ Obituary, exact copy from The Pinconning Press, Friday, February 22, 1918

‘ Mrs. Edward LaBean died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. McWharter, at the ripe old age of ninety five years. She was the mother of ten children, all of whom survive her. They are David, Frank, Joseph, Peter, and Daniel LaBean, and Mrs. W. Frankhouse, Mrs. Joe Bowen, Mrs. Frank Tatro, and Mrs. Peter McWharter. She is also survived by a brother, Frank, Detroit, who is 92 years of age. Mrs. LaBean was born in France and crossed to Canada in 1819, to Michigan during the Civil War, and has been a resident of Piconning 35 years. Later we learned she had 102 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. The funeral services were held at St. Michael’s Church Tuesday morning. ‘

The above date of death is correct. Bay County death record is in error.
