Daryl LaBine11584 lists the birth place of Ernest Guidry as Caminadaville, Jefferson Parish, LA while the baptismal certificate for Ernest Guidry is from St. Joseph’s Catholic Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, LA. 11566,11585 Although these two records may appear to contradict each other, they probably are consistent. Caminadaville was located near Grand Isle, Jefferson Parish, LA and was very near the Lafourche Parish-Jefferson Parish boundary. The only way to the existing world from Caminadaville was through Lafourche Parish. It is quite likely that religous records for inhabitants of Caminadaville in the early and mid-1800’s were registered at the Catholic church in Thibodaux, Lafourche Parish, LA as this was the closest Catholic church available.

Daryl LaBine11586 has listed Anastasia Marie Terrebonne, daughter of Hypolite Maurice Terrebonne and Anastasie Maitrejean, as the wife of Ernest Guidry. He also lists ten children as theirs. I can find no record of this marriage nor any record of the ten children. I do find the birth record of a Marie Anastasie Terrebonne, daughter of Hypolite Terrebonne and Nastasie Maitre Jean, on13 January 1879 in Lafourche Parish, LA.11587,11588 No other record of Marie Anastasie Terrebonne can be found. There are records for the marriage of Ernest Guidry, son of Aurelien Guidry and Emeile Brown (Braux) and the birth of their children in the records. I believe that Daryl LaBine has erred in listing Anastasie Marie Terrebonne as the wife of Ernest Guidry and also in listing the ten children.

Ernest Guidry
