“ Harold Victor Davis, 45 years old, of 528 Smith street, died in Mercy Hospital at 8:15 a. m. today following four days illness of pneumonia. He had been employed at the Stoner-Mauer company. Mr. Davis was born in Mercer county, Pennsylvania, and lived here several years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Gladys Davis, and three daughters.
The body has been removed to the Maurice funeral home, pending funeral arrangements. “

“ Funeral services for Harold Victor Davis, 45, who died of pneumonia at 8:15 a.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Maurice funeral home and at 2:30 in the Christian and Missionary Alliance church. The Rev. G. J. Stoddard will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Mr. Davis, born in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania April 8, 1897, came to Monroe six years ago, making his home at 528 Smith street. He was employed by Stoner-Maurer Company as a pressman. On July 25, 1941, he married Gladys Duvall at Napoleon, Ohio. Surviving, besides the wife, are three daughters by a previous marriage, Mrs. J. Faxell of Chicago, Mrs. Francis Kuban of Lyonsville, Pennsylvania, and Dorothy Davis, also of Lyonsville; a sister, Mrs. Hazel King, of Youngstown, Ohio; and one grandchild.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Eagles will hold services at the funeral home and a short service at the cemetery. Eagles will act as pallbearers. “
