Thomas L. Vance, 62 years, of Elmira, MI, and formerly of Luna Pier, MI, died Monday, July 21, 2003, in his home. Born November 13, 1940, in Luna Pier, MI, he was the son of Partrick and Alma (Tigner) Vance. He married Judith Agnew on June 18, 1960, in Erie, MI. Tom had been a Painter for the Local #7, Painters and Decorators. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith; sons, Thomas L. Vance, Jr., Patrick (Lisa) Vance and Eugene (Sharon) Vance; brothers, Joseph Vance and James (Jo Ann) Vance; sisters, Betty Witfoth, Margaret (Larry) Armstrong, Ida (Raymond) Frankhouse, Fannie Johnston, Lorena (Thomas) DeBruyne, Patricia (Ernie) Nevers, Sharon (Ward) Russell, Gloria (Gary) Krueger, Diane (William) McCormick, Esther (Clarence) King, Shirley (Jack) Minton and Joann (David) Cluckey, and 9 grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Vance; 2 brothers, Benjamin and Clyde Vance, and 2 sisters, Helen Van Pelt and Lola Vance.
Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Thursday in the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Jack L. Esther King, 55 years, of Luna Pier, MI, died Friday in her home. Born July 8, 1950, in Monroe County, MI, she was the daughter of Patrick and Alma (Tigner) Vance. She married Clarence L. King, Sr. on June 19, 1965, in Clintwood, WV. Esther was employed as a custodian for the City of Luna Pier and the Super 8 Motel. Prior, she was employed as head cook 13 years for L.I.F.E. at the Luna Pier Senior Center. She was a member of the American Legion, Aux., Post 193, Luna Pier and a past member of the WOTM Lodge 884. She enjoyed going to the casinos and enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.
Surviving are her loving husband, Clarence, Sr.; sons, Bud King and Douglas (Michelle) King; brothers, Joe Vance and James (Joann) Vance; sisters, Betty Witfoth, Margaret (Larry) Armstrong, Ida (Raymond) Frankhouse, Fannie Johnston, Lorena (Thomas) DeBruyne, Patricia (Ernie) Nevers, Sharon (Ward) Russell, Gloria (Gary) Krueger, Diane (William) McCormick, Shirley (Jack) Minton and Joann (David) Cluckey; grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla, Julia, Nikolas, Collin and Taylor King. FRANKHOUSE Ida L. Ida L. Frankhouse passed away suddenly at the age of 76, at St. Luke’s Hospital on Thursday, August 7, 2008. She was born April 5, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio, to Patrick and Alma (Tigner) Vance. Ida was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and working crossword puzzles. Ida will be greatly missed by all who knew her especially for her kindness, and giving heart. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Raymond Frankhouse; daughter, Dale Marie Harmon; son, Danny (Toni) Frankhouse; granddaughters, Terri Lynn Domborwski, Kelly Lynn (Bryan Hollabaugh) Frankhouse, Stacie (Chris) Rains, Dani Marie (Nick) Monday; great-granddaughters, Sarah K. “ LaSalle, March 24, John J. Frankhouse of 4752 North Shore Road, LaSalle, died in Monroe Hospital yesterday at 10:20 pm. He had been in ill health following a stroke 13 years ago and seriously ill the last two weeks.
He was born in Newport, November 24, 1878 (sic 1875) the son of Mr. & Mrs. Louis Frankhouse. He worked at the Deinzer Furniture Company a number of years before joining the Monroe police force in 1905. He served on the force for 18 years, the last six as chief of police. He then transferred to the fire department, retiring following the stroke 13 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Clara, seven sons all at home, Raymond, John Jr., Donald, Orlie, Kenneth, Charles and Michael. Four daughters all at home. Betty, Margaret, Geraldine and MIldred. Five brothers, Bert, Louis, Henry, Francis, all of Monroe and Fred of River Rouge, and a sister Mrs. William Cooley of Monroe.
The body is at the Allore Beam and Weber mortuary with service to be held Monday at 9 AM from St. Joseph Catholic Church. Internment will be St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. “

TOLEDO - Mrs. Clara E. Frankhouse, 77, of Toledo, died Friday in St. Charles Hospital, Toledo.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. tonight in the David R. Jasin Funeral Home, 5300 Summit St., Toledo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Toledo. Burial will be in Lake Township Cemetery.
She is survived by 7 sons, including Orlie and Kenneth Frankhouse of Monroe, 3 daughters, 3 brothers, a sister, Mrs. Mildred Domke of Flat Rock, 34 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
