“ The fire rescue squad and doctors at Monroe Hospital worked over a new born for 57 minutes with the inhalator last night and kept it alive until 1:17 this morning when a second call came for the inhalator. The baby, a boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Duvall of 5160 Plum Creek drive, died before the fireman arrived at the hospital the second time. “

“ Lawrence W. Duvall, 69, who lived with a daughter, Mrs. Leo Johnson of 1264 Arbor Ave., died at 6:30 p.m. yesterday in Toledo Hospital, Toledo. Mr. Duvall became ill at his daughter’s home and was take to Mercy Hospital, Monroe, then transferred to Toledo Hospital. He had been in poor health since 1963.
Friends may call after 7 tonight at the Allore Funeral Home. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
The son of William and Clara Duvall, he was born July 26, 1900, in Monroe. He married Josephine Bogedain in June 1920, in St. Mary’s Church. She preceded him in death in April, 1963.
He had lived in Monroe all his life and was employed 47 years by the Union Camp Corp., retiring in 1965. Mr. Duvall was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son: Edward J. Duvall of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Beatrice) Johnston of Monroe; a brother, Roy Duvall of Monroe; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. “

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the Allore Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. William McBride of Calvary United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
Born Sept. 7, 1902 in Monroe, he was the son of William and Clara (Frankhouse) Duvall. His first marriage was to Gladys Furstenburg, who he later divorced. He then married Minnie Cole, who died July 3, 1967.
A laborer with Monroe Auto Equipment Co. for many years, he was a member of Monroe Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son, Roy, of Monroe; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper, Mrs. Orla Absalom and Mrs. Peggy Lanier, all of Monroe; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

“ Harold Victor Davis, 45 years old, of 528 Smith street, died in Mercy Hospital at 8:15 a. m. today following four days illness of pneumonia. He had been employed at the Stoner-Mauer company. Mr. Davis was born in Mercer county, Pennsylvania, and lived here several years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Gladys Davis, and three daughters.
The body has been removed to the Maurice funeral home, pending funeral arrangements. “

“ Funeral services for Harold Victor Davis, 45, who died of pneumonia at 8:15 a.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Maurice funeral home and at 2:30 in the Christian and Missionary Alliance church. The Rev. G. J. Stoddard will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Mr. Davis, born in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania April 8, 1897, came to Monroe six years ago, making his home at 528 Smith street. He was employed by Stoner-Maurer Company as a pressman. On July 25, 1941, he married Gladys Duvall at Napoleon, Ohio. Surviving, besides the wife, are three daughters by a previous marriage, Mrs. J. Faxell of Chicago, Mrs. Francis Kuban of Lyonsville, Pennsylvania, and Dorothy Davis, also of Lyonsville; a sister, Mrs. Hazel King, of Youngstown, Ohio; and one grandchild.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Eagles will hold services at the funeral home and a short service at the cemetery. Eagles will act as pallbearers. “

She was born Mary (sic May) 1, 1899, in Hammonsburg, Ohio, to Andrew and Maggie (Masters) Sterling. She married Fred Furstenberg in 1945 in Napoleon, Ohio. He died in 1970.
Ms. Furstenberg is survived by a son, Roy Duvall, of Toledo; 3 daughters, Mrs. Orla Absalom, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Cooper and Mrs. Peggy Lanier, all of Monroe; a sister, Mrs. Fern Brandeberry and a half-sister, Mrs. Edith Moore, both of Findlay, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Ruby Sterling, of Bloomdale, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister. “
