Mrs. Rosele Frankhouse, aged 85 years, died in her home at 1136 Eat Eighth Street this morning after a lingering sickness. Her death was caused by old age and complications. Mrs. Frankhouse had lived in Monroe for a great number of years and was well known in the eastern part of the city where she resided for many years. The body has been removed to the Webber undertaking parlors awaiting funeral arrangements. Mrs. Frankhouse leaves the follows sons and daughters, Albert, John, Fred, Francis, Louis and Henry, Mrs. William Cooley and Mrs. Clark Murray, all of Monroe. “8254

“ Mrs. Clara Mowry, 60, was found dead in front of 331 North Roessler street at 7:50 last evening by Joe Engle, 16, of 1042 West Elm avenue. Coroner Earle Little attributed her death to a heart attack. Mrs. Mowry was stricken while on her way home from work, according to the coroner. She lived with a son, Lawrence Duvall, of 460 North Roessler street. The body was removed to the Allore, Beam and Weber mortuary.... She also leaves seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body will remain in the mortuary until funeral arrangement are made, awaiting word from the son Roy. “8322

“ Lawrence W. Duvall, 69, who lived with a daughter, Mrs. Leo Johnson of 1264 Arbor Ave., died at 6:30 p.m. yesterday in Toledo Hospital, Toledo. Mr. Duvall became ill at his daughter’s home and was take to Mercy Hospital, Monroe, then transferred to Toledo Hospital. He had been in poor health since 1963.

Friends may call after 7 tonight at the Allore Funeral Home. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home and at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

The son of William and Clara Duvall, he was born July 26, 1900, in Monroe. He married Josephine Bogedain in June 1920, in St. Mary’s Church. She preceded him in death in April, 1963.

He had lived in Monroe all his life and was employed 47 years by the Union Camp Corp., retiring in 1965. Mr. Duvall was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son: Edward J. Duvall of Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Leo (Beatrice) Johnston of Monroe; a brother, Roy Duvall of Monroe; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. “13260

“ Elroy J. Duvall, 87, of 5160 Plum Creek Dr. died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday in Mercy Memorial Hospital where he had been the past six weeks. He had been ill the past five y;ears, living in Frenchtown Nursing Care Center, and seriously ill the past six week.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the Allore Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. William McBride of Calvary United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.

Born Sept. 7, 1902 in Monroe, he was the son of William and Clara (Frankhouse) Duvall. His first marriage was to Gladys Furstenburg, who he later divorced. He then married Minnie Cole, who died July 3, 1967.

A laborer with Monroe Auto Equipment Co. for many years, he was a member of Monroe Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a son, Roy, of Monroe; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper, Mrs. Orla Absalom and Mrs. Peggy Lanier, all of Monroe; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

The census was taken there on 12 January 1920 by William Baldwin. With William Duvall, age 40, are his wife Rosa A. Duvall, age 46, and his two adopted children Mary Helen Duvall, age 10, and Jules A. Duvall, age 5. All of the family except Jules could read and write and all were born in Michigan. Orla Mowry was a very special person to his family as evidenced by his step-granddaughter’s statements. “Grandma remarried (Orla) and he was special. I think he meant more to the family than William. So special that family members were naming their children after him. Even the Frankhouse’s named their children after him but spelt the names a little different. I’ve heard that story all my life. My Aunt was also named Orla. Grandma married Orla before her childrn married and when they did marry and had a family of their own their children didn’t know William it was Orla they were raised around and they called him Grandpa Mowry. “8264

Orla Floyd Mowry died at Monroe Hospital at 4:15 pm on Sunday, 11 January 1942 after being ill since the preceeding Monday. He lived at 15 Scott Street in Monroe, Monroe County, Michigan.13258

Services for Orla Floyd Mowry were held on Wednesday afternoon, 14 January 1942 at 2:00 pm from the Allore Beam and Weber Funeral Home and at 2:30 pm from the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. The Rev. George J. Stoddard officiated with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The active pallbearers, all members of the the Monroe fire department, were Captain Harry Hicks, Walter Hochradel, Harry Falk, Harry Woodbury, Oscar Mexico and Chester Allen. Honorary pallbearers were also members of the Monroe fire department, police department and Adrian firemen. The Adrian firemen were Chief John Hawley, Captain John Volmar, Firemen Melvin Bower, Norman McKenzey, Louis Howe, Clare Sebring and Elmer Holtz While local firemen attended the services a delegation of Wyandotte firemen remained on duty at No. 1 and No. 2 fire houses. They were Captains Robert Perry and Cyrus Graessley, Pipeman John Kaufman, Firemen Joseph Weise, Chester Proisnewske, Alpha Reaume, Wiliam DeMaggio, Oscar Hooks, Fred Jackson, Samuel Richards, Victor DeMaggio, Everett Timms and Clarence Mahalak. City Firemen Ira Falk and Karl Foshag remained on duty as advisors.13258,13262
